On careers, leadership and the art of transition.

Whether you’re stepping into a bigger role, questioning what’s next or rethinking what success means, there’s more to a transition than making the move.

I help experienced professionals move through professional transitions, from making sense of where they are to deciding what comes next and finding their feet along the way.

Why transitions

Sometimes, the hardest part is seeing things differently.

When you’ve spent years building your career, you develop ways of working that serve you well. You set high standards, take responsibility and become someone others can rely on.

But those same expectations can become difficult to sustain when things change. You might respond to uncertainty by working harder, focus on what you don’t yet know rather than what you bring, or feel the need to prove yourself all over again.

When you’re caught up in the demands of everyday work, it’s not always easy to find the space to question what’s happening, recognise the patterns you’ve fallen into or decide what you want to do differently.

Identity

Understanding yourself

Your values, what matters to you now, and the beliefs or patterns that may be limiting your choices.

Self-leadership

Leading yourself

How you respond to challenges, manage your energy and boundaries, and make deliberate choices about where to focus.

Strategy

Positioning yourself

Recognising the value you bring, building your influence and relationships, and taking purposeful steps towards the opportunities you want.

A thought on transition (drawing on the work of William Bridges)

Change is the external event. Transition is the internal work.

Meet Alicia

A few transitions of my own.

I’m Alicia Noble, a leadership coach, speaker and career transition strategist. I spent more than 15 years in Finance, Risk, Audit and learning and development, from Big Four practice to a FTSE 100 insurer, leading teams and strategic programmes and working closely with senior leaders.

My own career has been a series of transitions, some I chose and some that chose me.

Looking back, I can see how often I responded by working harder. I focused on what I didn’t know rather than recognising what I brought to the table. I set myself high standards and felt I had to keep proving that I deserved to be there. At times, it was exhausting.

It’s given me a different appreciation of what transitions ask of us. Not just the decisions we make or the changes around us, but the expectations we place on ourselves and the patterns we carry from one stage to the next.

That is the work I do now, with individuals, groups and organisations.

What clients say.

I was sceptical about coaching. But Alicia’s probing questions uncovered ideas and ambitions I didn’t realise were buried so deeply. After just five sessions, I have a new direction, renewed purpose, and genuine re-engagement in my career. The hard work is still mine, but I finally have clarity about the future I want.

Alicia understands the world I operate in and asks the questions others won’t. She helped me think strategically about where I was heading while staying honest about what mattered to me beyond the role, and I came away with a clearer plan and a far better balance between my professional and personal priorities.
Head of Internal Audit
Alicia created a space that felt safe, constructive and genuinely supportive. She’s helped me reframe situations I once saw as criticism into opportunities for clarity. I’ve learned to celebrate my own strengths without waiting for external validation.
